Human Geographies

Curator Paris Kapralos and the Chili Art Gallery (13-15 Dimofontos Street, Thissio), in collaboration with 17 visual artists from Greece and abroad, invite you to visit the exhibition “Anthropogeographies,” which will run until Saturday, April 13, 2024. Starting from the second day after the opening, the exhibition will also be available online through our platform until May 7, 2024.

‘Human Geographies’ is the title of an exhibition that explores the dynamic relationships between geography and human beings, particularly the way in which locations and landscapes shape human identity and experience. The exhibition focuses on the specific role played by maps and bodies as means of perception and interpretation of the world, examining the interactions between the natural, the artificial, and the virtual-technological environment and human existence. Through a diverse dialogue of images, installations, and multimedia, the artists explore the concepts of self-determination, freedom, belonging, migration, and cultural identity, highlighting the influence of geography on the shaping of human societies and individual experiences, under a central theme that suggests the complex relationship between space and identity, offering a new perspective on understanding the modern world.
