Nikiforos Tsekouras

Since the age of two, Nikiforos has expressed his love for painting, transferring every interest onto various surfaces such as tables, walls, floors, furniture, etc. He depicted small stories or sketches of Cycladic statues, buildings (e.g., the Parthenon, museums, places we visited), animals, letters, numbers, etc. Often, the canvas extended to his hands and body. He experienced everything at the limits of sensations as he falls within the autism spectrum. To this day, he has created 330 artworks of various dimensions (from A4 to 110X140 cm) & various themes, mostly with acrylics. Painting for him is like breathing. The image emerges effortlessly, as if it is inside his mind, waiting for the right moment to come out. It is a gift in his difficulty. Through it, he communicates, using forms, colors, and the entire creative process. He has exhibited a large number of his works in a solo exhibition and has been awarded in a national competition. Many of his works have been sold.
