Nikiforos Tsekouras

From his two years of age, Nikiforos showed his love for painting, transferring every interest to every surface, tables, walls, floors, furniture, etc. These were small stories or sketches of Cycladic statues, buildings (e.g., the Parthenon, museums, places we visited), animals, letters, numbers, etc. Often, the canvas expanded onto his hands and body. He experienced everything on the edge of sensations as he is on the autism spectrum. Until today, he has created 330 works of various dimensions (A4 to 110×140 cm) & various themes mainly with acrylics. Painting is like breathing for him. The image arises effortlessly, as if it is in his mind waiting for the right time to come out. It is a gift in his difficulty. Through it, he communicates via forms, colors, and the entire creation process. He has exhibited a large portion of his works in a solo exhibition and has been awarded in a national competition. Many of his works have been sold.
