“Konstantinos Gougkoufkas was born on 4 February 1971 in Skoutari, Serres. He received his first painting lessons at the age of seven from the Serres-based painter and icon painter G. Zlatanis. He studied at the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki under Evangelos Dimitreas, graduating in 1997. In 1985-1986, he was awarded the silver medal in painting at the Panhellenic Student Competition “New Talents”, held at the Philonos Cultural Centre in Piraeus. From 1995 to 2004, he taught painting and drawing at the Department of Visual Arts, Painting and Drawing of D.E.P.K.A. Serres. He has also taught in secondary education since 2001. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and the Association of Visual Artists of the Regional Unit of Serres. His work has been presented in four solo exhibitions and 23 group exhibitions in Greece.
