Nikolas Kouvakas’s artistic journey spans five decades and encompasses a wide range of media and materials, including photography, marble, wood, bronze, plexiglass, ceramics and mixed media, with each idea developing its own distinctive visual identity. A solo exhibition in 1983 marked the beginning of a long series of artistic activities. Since then, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Athens and elsewhere, as well as exhibitions in London, Miami, Portugal and Austria, while also organizing exhibitions, international events and chess tournaments. As a member of the Athens-based art and cultural group P.E.L.T., he contributes to the organization of social initiatives supporting vulnerable groups in Greece and abroad. His work has received numerous distinctions and awards, while publications, posters, book covers and trophies created for various events also form part of his artistic practice.
