Tuesday, August 24, 2021 – The painter Foti Kllogjeri is collaborating with ARTgrID to showcase his work to an international art-loving audience. The painter is particularly well-known and beloved in Greece for his urban landscapes and oil paintings on canvas, while internationally he is more recognized as a watercolor artist with his watercolor paintings. Foti Kllogjeri will now maintain a permanent profile on our platform at the address https://artgrid.gr/en/foti-kllogjeri/ where a complete presentation and online exhibition of his work can be found.

Visual curator Paris Kapralos, in a note of critical approach to his work, states among other things: “As a descendant of a rich tradition of Greek Urban Landscapes, Foti Kllogjeri stands out for capturing movement, bursts of color, compositional skill, and an abstract approach to panoramic views of streets and buildings, the noise and movement of the city, and the indirect representation of people, but more of their kinetic imprint and the sense of the city’s noise. The painter responds in his own way, rendering a modern and remarkable perspective. The movement is captured on the canvas, often devoid of emotion or with an underlying lyricism that reveals the contradictions and conflicting feelings of attraction-repulsion that people experience in modern metropolises. It is the city itself that interests the artist, as it ‘writes’ itself in human consciousness and is inscribed in the collective unconscious. The element that makes the painter’s approach unique is a delicate balance between gestural painting and the relationship with color[…]. A neo-impressionistic disposition emerges from his works, as the focus of attention is not based on what the eye sees, but on the general impression perceived by the mind upon first reading.

Foti Kllogjeri was born in Albania in 1973. He studied painting and applied arts at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Tirana. Since 1996, he has been living and working in Thessaloniki, Greece. He has exhibited his work in 6 solo exhibitions in Greece and has participated in more than 50 exhibitions worldwide. His works are in private collections. He represents Greece (Country Leader) as a painter in the International Watercolor Society (IWS) and is the Head of the Albanian Visual Arts Delegation participating in the Fabriano Symposium annually since 2017. He is also the Vice President of the Artists Association of Visual Arts of Northern Greece (SKETVE) since 2019, and he collaborates with the visual art collective ARC – Art Revisited Collective.
