STATEMENT

“The executive role of the visual artist is not to provide knowledge, but rather contemplation. Their purpose is not to give answers, but to pose crucial and incisive questions. The societal role of the artist, globally for over a century, is to challenge every certainty, and for their artistic work to become the voice of those without one. An artist with a significant body of work that isn’t centered around social matters is inconceivable! Supporting artists is a fundamental issue in a society in need of rejuvenation. […] It is crucial to consider the means through which we will bolster Culture in the present time. Supporting artists who create culture is of paramount importance, as is accessing the culture of the past in every form achievable through digitization and free, friendly access for all. Furthermore, comprehensive modernization of Education is essential. The education we receive and give takes precedence. The education we give is what we do daily in the presence of others—children or adults; it’s simply more impactful with children. The education we receive is what we see in every space we share with others—by them, and their marks in the spaces we occupy. Art in public spaces unquestionably needs enhancement; it is fluid education”.
