Katerina Kalitsounaki graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts under the guidance of Chronis Botsoglou. Since 1993, she has been involved in education, teaching Art to children, adults, seminars, and lectures at conferences. Additionally, as an active visual artist, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions and projects in Greece and abroad. She is one of the founding members of the visual arts group Art for Earth22 and the Red Boat Projects aiming to bring environmental issues to the forefront of the global discussion, inspire, and awaken the public through art and creativity. With her recent artistic experiments, using thread as a line, fabric as a shape, and color, she creates contemporary textile works with unconventional approaches to their visual content. She redefines fibers as material, giving them back their lost artistic value and identity.
