Tina Gourvelou

Tina Gourvelou was born and raised in Athens. She studied Archaeology and Art History at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Sorbonne. She faced a dilemma in choosing her studies between the Faculty of Philosophy and the Athens School of Fine Arts, as her talent in painting emerged very early on. Being self-taught, she experimented with various techniques and mediums of painting, such as charcoal, pastels, watercolors, oil painting, and acrylics. She occasionally attended workshops and participated in various online group exhibitions. To develop her skills and technique, she periodically copied works by Teti, Gentilini, Moralis, and other great artists. Early on, she showed a preference for portraits and the depiction of female forms in her thematic, considering Woman as a dynamic, self-sufficient, and independent entity, which has been a timeless inspiration for the artist.
