Olga Barmazi is a painter and children’s book illustrator, a graduate of the Katerina Rota School of Visual and Decorative Arts and the Vortex School of Visual Jewelry. She is also a graduate of the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a final-year student of the Joint Postgraduate Program in Creative Writing. Alongside her artistic career, she has long worked as a text editor/proofreader and translator for publishing houses in Athens. As a visual artist, since 1997 she has presented her work in 4 solo exhibitions and has participated in selected group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She has received 9 international awards for her works in Japan and the USA. She has been teaching painting since 2007, and in 2012 she founded “Apothiki Technon AMKE,” which among other activities runs painting workshops for children and adults. Since 2017, she also teaches painting at the Kalogeropoulio Foundation for Arts and Culture in Corinth. She has done set design for theater and dance performances and has created series of visual jewelry exhibited in Greece and the USA. She has illustrated 6 children’s books.
