Aida Seranaj

Aida Seranaj was born in Tirana, Albania. She has been living in Crete for the last twelve years. She studied four years of drawing, painting, and directing at an art high school in Tirana and two years of Byzantine Iconography at the “Logos” University in Tirana with the iconographer Christos Papanikolaou. The material that captivated her is egg tempera, with which she paints icons and more not only on paper but also on icon boards and wood. For the last three years, she has participated in six group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Painting is her way of expressing emotions, thoughts, and concerns, and through it, she aims to convey messages, provoke thoughts, and evoke emotions in those who come into contact with her works. Every time she paints, she discovers the mysteries of art and herself.
