Katerina Lamprou

Katerina Lamprou was born and continues to reside and create in the Kypriadou neighborhood of the Municipality of Athens. The historically charged place of her neighborhood, as it served as the residence and workplace of artists and intellectuals (Kontoglou, Pikionis, Papaloukas, Glinos, etc.) in the 1920s, serves as an inspiration element for her, combined with her internal quests. She graduated from the Graphic Design Department of AKTO and from the Athens School of Fine Arts. She worked in the advertising industry as an Art Director for over 10 years, and for the past 10 years, she has been working as a substitute art teacher in primary education. Drawing inspiration from texts of philosophy and mythology, as well as images from the biological, natural, and experiential realms, she shapes her artworks. She experiments with various media in an attempt to approach the artistic idea to the fullest extent possible. She has participated in group exhibitions, and her works are found in private collections..
