“Dimitrios Gougopoulos was born in Larissa in 1978 and has been involved in the fine arts since his school years, beginning to paint more systematically in 1995. He is a self-taught painter active in contemporary visual art, with an emphasis on geometric and Symbolist representation. His artistic practice is characterized by systematic research into structure, symmetry and the psychological function of the image, with the aim of developing a personal visual language that combines precision, sensory subtlety and internal coherence. Working with high-quality materials such as fineliners, brush pens and specialist markers, he creates works distinguished by the clarity of their line. His self-directed artistic development has shaped a methodology based on continuous observation, experimentation and personal research, enabling him to develop a distinctive and coherent style. His works have been presented in one solo exhibition and thirteen group exhibitions in Greece, attracting audiences interested in contemporary abstract and Symbolist painting, while his works are also held in private collections in Greece. He is a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Larissa.
