“Maria Mantila was born and lives in Xylokastro. She is a certified craft practitioner, holding a Certificate of Craft Skills from EBETAM, and for the past ten years she has developed her artistic practice at the Visual Arts Workshop of the Kiato Cultural Centre. She has participated in more than ten group exhibitions and artistic projects in Greece, while also working in creative education, teaching crafts at an association for people with disabilities and designing experiential workshops for children. Her work spans painting, clay and mixed media, focusing on expression, memory and emotional experience. She approaches art as a means of meaningful communication, creating works that invite viewers into a personal dialogue and an experiential engagement with the image.
