Panagiota Kapogianni was born in Drama, Macedonia. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, pursued studies in photography in Berlin and attended the State College of Education in Berlin. The human being lies at the heart of her artistic world. Love and Peace are central themes in Panagiota Kapogianni’s work. Her vision is one of nations united for a better future for humanity. Her colours include her beloved blue, a symbol of Greece, an expression of romanticism and the colour of the sea and freedom, as well as red, the colour of passion and energy. Alongside the Greek element in her work, Panagiota Kapogianni has a particular fascination with letters and writing: how they were created, how they emerged and how they evolved. She studied them for many years, presenting the beauty of ancient writing as well as the similarities between ancient Greek characters and Chinese calligraphy. Since 1975, she has exhibited her work in group and solo exhibitions in Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Korea, China, Tunisia, New York, Brussels, France, Switzerland, Italy and Poland.
