Nikiforos Tsekouras

From the age of two, Nikiforos, he expressed his love for painting, transferring every interest onto every surface, tables, walls, floors, furniture, etc. They were small stories or sketches of Cycladic statues, buildings (e.g., the Parthenon, museums, places we visited), animals, letters, numbers, etc. Often the canvas extended onto his hands and body. He experienced everything on the brink of sensation as he is on the autism spectrum. To this day, he has created 330 works of various dimensions (from A4 to 110×140 cm) & various themes mostly using acrylics. Painting for him is like breathing. The image emerges effortlessly, as if it’s inside his mind, waiting for the right moment to come out. It’s a gift in difficulty. Through it, he communicates, through shapes, colors, and the entire creative process. He has exhibited a large portion of his works in a solo exhibition and has been awarded in a national competition.
