It seeks its identity, and in trying to find it, isolates itself further… It struggles to explore the subconscious; only then will it find peace and balance… The soul shatters into pieces in order to be reconstructed in a new form… It walks the tightrope between reality and the supernatural world. It seeks solitude to find peace and light. A struggle between consciousness and the unconscious… No one can escape from themselves.

Katerina Spyropoulou

Katerina Spyropoulou was born in Athens, where she lives and works. She is a Civil Engineer with postgraduate studies in environmental design and is professionally involved in the field of public works. Since her childhood, she has been engaged in photography, painting, and music. Since 2013, she has participated in artistic photography workshops. In the years 2014-2018, as a member of a photographic group, she focused on “street photography.” In the years 2018-2019, she completed three cycles of studies at the Greek Center of Photography. In the summer of 2019, she began working on “self-portraiture.” In the years 2021-2022, she completed the annual study program at the GCP, working on “staged photography.” Since the summer of 2022, focusing on photographic art, she has been attending the program “Photography: Images and Techniques” at the University of San Diego, California, having already completed 5 cycles of studies leading to a “Professional Certificate in Photography/Arts and Humanities.” She has participated in 9 group exhibitions, 4 in Athens, 3 in Thessaloniki, and 2 online. She has published 2 Photobooks and maintains a website.
