Nikiforos Tsekouras

Nikiforos Tsekouras expressed his love for painting from the age of two, transferring anything interesting onto any surface, such as tables, walls, floors, furniture, etc. These were small stories or sketches of Cycladic statues, buildings (e.g., the Parthenon, museums, places we visited), animals, letters, numbers, and more. Often, the canvas extended to his hands and body. He experiences everything at the limits of his senses as he is on the autism spectrum. To date, he has created 330 works of various sizes (A4 to 110×140 cm) and various themes, primarily using acrylics. Painting for him is like breathing. The image emerges effortlessly, as if it is already in his mind, waiting for the right moment to come out. It is a gift in his struggle. Through it, he communicates via forms, colors, and the entire creation process.
