Anastasia Riga was born in Athens in 1986 and studied from 2009 to 2014 at the 1st Painting Studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts. She also took courses in sculpture and scenography. Even during her studies, she developed a personal technique in using ink and rendering chiaroscuro, shaping the ink with the imprints of her hand. She has participated in group exhibitions, including the Graduates’ Exhibition 2014–2016 at the Nikos Kessanlis Exhibition Hall of ASFA (17/1–9/2/2019) and “Nonthematic” at Tag Project Space (6/5–16/5/2023). She held a solo exhibition titled “Oriz_ON_ntes” at Two Thirds Project Space, curated by Nasia Kalama (3–18/11/2023). Her paintings use iconography powders and explore the relationship between painting and memory recall. Since 2011, she has been teaching painting and drawing. She lives and works in Athens.
