Konstantinos Adamantidis, based in Thessaloniki, is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Thessaloniki and has been active in the field of painting for more than thirty years. His work unfolds as a consistent and long term visual trajectory, with colour, the exploration of space, and the form of the image’s boundaries as its central axis. His painting operates within a field of abstraction and structural organisation, where dreamlike organic and geometric elements coexist. The compositions do not seek representation but the creation of open visual fields in which the image is deconstructed and transformed. Through layers of colour, gestural tensions, and spatial shifts, uncertain and transitional places emerge, moving between the seemingly real and the dreamlike and u-topian. This constitutes an approach to visual art, and to music as well, through silence and improvisation. Alongside painting, he is involved with jewellery, constructions, photographic processing, and in recent years experimental atonal music. This engagement functions complementarily to painting, influencing rhythm, structure, and the temporality of visual thought. He has held three solo exhibitions, one of which in collaboration with another artist, and has participated in more than fifteen group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
