Maria Kalliadou is a painter and educator. She was born in Thessaloniki and lives and works in Athens. Her visual arts studies were pursued alongside studies in Classical Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and in Psychology at Deree – The American College of Greece. In addition to her artistic pursuits, she worked as a philologist and specialised in the use of technology in education. She trained under esteemed artists Giannis Varlas and Dimitris Maninis. She also studied Byzantine iconography under the supervision of iconographer Areti Floka and completed the Fine Art programme at Borgias Fine Arts, where she learned painting and printmaking with professors Vangelis Theodoridis and Daniela Stamatiadi. She has presented her work in one solo and 22 group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
