Xenia Arapaki was born in Athens and studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts under the guidance of G. Mavroidis, P. Tetsis, and D. Mytaras, earning degrees in Painting, Ceramics, and Theoretical Studies. She served in the Greek university system, teaching and conducting research in the field of Art Education. Her artistic work revolves around painting and ceramics. In particular, her painting is inspired by the work and ideas of her first mentor, Vrasidas Vlachopoulos, focusing primarily on the human-made environment and the emotional human experience. The mixed techniques and materials she employs add depth to her works, making the interplay of light and shadow a key element that encourages the viewer to go beyond simple observation, to engage, accept, or question the underlying concept. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
