Fotini Mamali was born in Thessaloniki in 1966. She lives and works in eastern Attica. She has worked in the banking sector and as a freelance painter and illustrator, also designing handmade jewelry. She is largely self-taught. A teenage artistic tendency that lay dormant for many years returned when she was around 40 years old. Since then, she has extensively explored color in all its textures, from tempera to oil, and dry pastels, including mixed media. Most of her work consists of nudes and portraits. She has created many portrait studies and nudes using only pencil or charcoal. She has participated in group exhibitions in the Athens area and has designed covers for short story and poetry collections. She is also engaged in writing and poetry herself.
