Stella Matala is a visual artist and public school teacher. She lives and works in Thebes, Boeotia. She studied interior design at AKTO and painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts. During her studies, she spent a year in Valencia, Spain at the city’s School of Fine Arts through the Erasmus program. In her latest exhibition, she presented works from the past 25 years. From 2010 to 2021, she lived and worked in Rhodes as an educator and artist. During her stay in Rhodes, she presented her works in several group exhibitions and held two solo exhibitions. However, she has also held solo exhibitions at least three times in past years in Athens and Thebes. In addition to painting, she has been involved with collage, printmaking, ceramics, and handmade home crafts. In the future, she would like to focus more on her personal work, which includes short comic stories reflecting her personal quests, and works born from her introspective explorations, with the aim of presenting and communicating them to the public.
