Michel Devanakis

Michel Devanakis, a self-taught visual artist, was born in 1962 in Douala, Cameroon, to Greek parents. He studied Graphic Design and Advertising in France and lived in various countries (France, Bermuda, Mexico, Canada) before settling in Greece in 1997, where he founded his own graphic design company. In 2001, he created the largest humorous website in Greece, “filaki.gr,” featuring illustrated greeting cards.Parallel to his professional work, Devanakis has been creating paintings since his youth and participated in a group exhibition in Bermuda in 1987. In 2013, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to painting. His multicultural background is a fundamental element of his creative approach. He has exhibited his works in Greece and abroad, and his artworks are part of private collections in various countries.Today, he lives exclusively from his artistic activity and is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece and the artistic collective ARC – Art Revisited Collective.
