Elma Tsarouchi was born in Athens. She studied Graphic Arts at the Doxiadis School and attended painting classes at the Athens School of Fine Arts in Giorgos Mavroidis’ studio, as well as advertising courses at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Graphiques in Paris. From 1970 to 1974, she was a member of the artistic department of Aspioti-Elka under the engraver A. Tassos, and later worked as an assistant to Yannis Tsarouchis in his Paris studio. From 1977 to 2000, she worked as a graphic designer in advertising agencies and as a freelancer. Today, she lives and works as a visual artist in Athens.
