Elissavet (Betty) Kaggelari was born in 1967 and permanently resides in Argostoli, Kefalonia. She studied History and Archaeology at the University of Ioannina and Theology at the University of Athens. She works as a public service employee at a Citizen Service Center (KEP). She has been painting with oils since childhood, learning from her “nonná” (the word for grandmother in the Ionian Islands), who was a naïve painter. Later on, she studied the Impressionist movement and visited dozens of related exhibitions across Europe, as well as the regions where the movement flourished. Her work focuses primarily on landscape and flower painting.
