Giorgos Vasileiou was born in Alexandroupoli, in Northern Greece, where he continues to live and work. He showed great interest in the visual arts from an early age. He took his first steps through lessons in ceramics and painting. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Ioannina, where he was introduced to printmaking and focused mainly on woodcut and copper engraving under the guidance of professor Christodoulos Galdemis. As part of the Graphic Arts Conferences organized in collaboration with the University of Ioannina and the Museum of Typography of Ioannina, he had the opportunity to teach the fundamentals of printmaking. After his graduation, he returned to his hometown, where he set up his own printmaking studio, both to continue his own artistic practice and to teach the art of printmaking to others. Giorgos Vasileiou has participated in 11 group exhibitions and art competitions and has organized one solo exhibition.
