Efi Manou was born in Athens in 1958. She initially studied at the Pedagogical Academy (1975-1977) and the School of Kindergarten Teachers (1977-1978). She continued her studies in painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1980-1985) under D. Mytaras and I. Dekoulakos, engraving with Th. Exarchopoulos, and scenography with Professor V. Vassileiadis. She also studied at the Royal College of Art in London with Professor Peter de Francia and at the New York Academy with Professors L. Gervitz (Repin method) and John Wellington. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Greece (Athens, Syros, Ioannina, Heraklion, Loutraki, and more) and abroad (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Spain, Yugoslavia, New York, among others). Her works are part of public and private collections. In addition to her painting career, she has illustrated children’s books such as The Truest Fairy Tale published by Kedros and First Reading Cards. She has also worked in scenography and translated art-related texts such as Van Gogh, Gauguin, Watercolor, Impressionism, Perspective published by Erevnites, and A Portrait of Giacometti published by Smili.
