Ingrid Kvale Kiran is a 27 year old artist currently based in Athens from Oslo, Norway. She studied at Einar Granum School of Fine Arts in Oslo and Escola Massana in Barcelona. While studying in Oslo, she had a solo exhibition in collaboration with Elise Flemming. She has sold several of her paintings, most prominently to the former mayor of Oslo. Kiran uses various forms of painting such as acrylic, oil and watercolors. Her work takes inspiration from city landscapes, personal feelings, current news and adult animation tv-shows. Her style can be described as childish, morbid and humoristic. Her artistic mission is to show a different perception of reality. By changing the perspective of buildings, using vibrant colors and twisting the faces of humans and animals she tries to take the observer into a different reality. Her idea is that paintings are not to be seen, but heard and felt.
