Saturday, November 9, 2024 – Yiannis Stamoulis is the newest member of the emerging community of the action platform Ink On Paper, which highlights visual artists whose primary media of expression are ink and paper.
Yiannis Stamoulis was born in 1969 in Athens. He is a retired Lieutenant General of the Hellenic Fire Service. A researcher and author of numerous books, he has been involved in painting in all its forms as an amateur in recent years. He has illustrated books and participated in five group exhibitions by ARTgrID. He has also organized and taken part in two group exhibitions titled “Works of Life” and “Athens Artistically” in Athens. He is a regular contributor to online media.
In his artistic statement, he emphasizes about his work: “As an amateur, I express myself by releasing what is hidden and unspoken. When drops of red and black ink spread across the white paper, the form takes on a fleeting life—just like the ephemeral life of its temporary brush handler. The formed figures ultimately grant me the freedom I seek, since the creation of anything new is proof that I am still alive. Perhaps, in the end, that is what art is.”
