Eleni Tsotsorou -Cosmos

The “Cosmos” series by Eleni Tsotsorou is shaped as a system of material organization and morphological discipline. Matter is handled with a consistent methodology, using fabric as the main tool, combined with artificial materials such as glue, acrylic, styrofoam, and metal mesh. The surface is activated through pleating, pressure, and layering, creating a network of tensions that operate on levels of rhythm, gravity, and distribution.

The color palette supports the internal architecture of the work. Cool tones, metallic elements, and gradients of brightness form visual environments devoid of narrative content. The image acquires spatial substance through the behavior of the materials. Form is structured according to the rhythm of matter and gestural repetition.

The series unfolds as an exploration of the relationship between structure, surface, and observation. The construction’s composition determines how the work is perceived. The gaze moves across arrangements based on gradients of intensity and internal direction. Each composition becomes a field of consistent manipulations, emphasizing density, focus, and the distribution of matter within the available space.

The series maintains coherence in terms of material identity, formal discipline, and visual dynamics. The “cosmos” emerges as a construction based on internal systems of relationships. The compositions propose conditions for organizing the gaze, where matter is activated as a structural component within an abstract, non-representational field.
