Saturday, August 9, 2025 – The community of the initiative Ink on Paper, which promotes visual artists whose main means of expression are ink and paper, welcomes its new member, Eleni Kavvadia.
Eleni Kavvadia is a painter and designer with a special love for black and white. She was born in 1988 and studied at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina. Since then, she has lived and worked in Athens, collaborating with businesses to apply her art in professional projects, while also working with children and adults and offering voluntary services with a social focus. She has participated in three group exhibitions in Athens, presenting works that reflect her personal artistic approach.
In her artist’s statement, she notes: “Throughout my artistic journey to date, I have devoted significantly more time to the study of black and white, with ink in various forms as my main medium. In my recent work, I have focused on more illustrative pieces inspired by nature and based on outline and the techniques of line art and stippling. I aim to further develop shapes with the pen using patterns, lines, and dots. I have been personally captivated by the creative process, which requires patience and discipline but at the same time offers the playfulness of the material. My goal is a final composition with these shapes and writings in interaction, prompting the viewer to spend time observing it and entering its microcosm.”
