Vasilis Dimitriou began his journey in painting as a self-taught artist, following a personal and experiential approach to creation. He firmly believed that artistic practice is a way of attaining and realizing desire, summarizing his stance in the phrase “if you want to acquire something, simply paint it.” In the last five years he expanded his artistic practice by turning to micro-sculpture, working mainly with steatite, a particularly soft stone that allows detailed and sensitive processing. He has participated in nine group exhibitions, gradually strengthening his presence in the visual arts field.
