Penelope Volterra is a visual artist whose principal means of expression are painting and sculpture. She was born and raised in Athens. She studied at A.T.I. (Athens Technological Institute), and alongside every other activity of her life she pursued painting with passion, while later she settled in Corfu, where she lives and works to this day, focusing exclusively on Art. At the same time she writes poetry. She is a founding member of the Corfu Art Gallery, a member of the Art Studio Est group (1992-2004), and has to her credit 21 solo exhibitions of painting and sculpture in Greece, Italy and Germany. She has participated in dozens of exhibitions in many countries (primarily Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Mexico, Portugal, and Lithuania). She has been awarded for her work within the framework of international competitive events in France. Her works are held in private collections and museums in Greece and abroad.
