The initiative ‘Ink on Paper‘ for the promotion of artists working primarily with ink and paper issues an open call for visual artists to join its community. Interested artists are encouraged to submit an application to become part of the network, which offers unique opportunities for exposure, support, and collaboration internationally.
Who can apply: Visual artists who are 18 years of age or older, living in Greece or Cyprus, regardless of nationality, may submit their work.
Eligible works: Submissions may include paintings, printmaking, ink drawings on paper, and various related techniques such as water-soluble media, Indian ink, line drawing, hatching, pointillism/stippling, wash drawing, brush work, contour drawing, calligraphy, illustration, watercolor with ink, paper sculpture, collage, and sumi-e.
Privileges & Benefits: Members of the “Ink on Paper” community enjoy a range of substantial benefits that support their artistic development and visibility. Participation includes organized international exposure through the official website and partner communication channels. Each artist is represented with 2 to 5 works in an annual online exhibition, with the option of direct sales and the freedom to withdraw their works at any time. Members have access to selected exhibitions, workshops, and masterclasses, along with exclusive discounts on courses and materials from partner institutions. Additionally, they receive regular updates through a monthly newsletter about domestic and international opportunities, competitions, exhibitions, and activities. Each participating artist receives a personalized critical review by a collaborating Art Historian or Curator, with the option of additional visibility through articles or interviews upon request. Finally, members may share their creative activities to be dynamically featured by the initiative, enhancing their artistic presence.
Submission Instructions: Send an email to inkonpapergr@gmail.com with the subject line “Membership Application“. The email should include your full name and contact details, and attach 2–5 images of recent works along with their descriptions (title, medium, dimensions, and year of completion).
Review Process: The “Ink on Paper” initiative will carefully review all submissions based on the quality and originality of the artworks, not on the artist’s CV or age. The curatorial team will assess whether the works are suitable for representation to an international audience. If approved, applicants will receive a response within 24 hours with full details regarding the benefits, terms, and conditions of community membership.

About the “Ink on Paper” Initiative:
“Ink on Paper” is the name of an initiative promoting visual artists and artworks that use ink and paper as their primary expressive media. It was launched in 2019 by Art Curator Paris Kapralos and features artists working in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and other techniques such as watercolor, Indian ink, calligraphy, mixed media, and more. The initiative also organizes workshops, masterclasses, and live demos. The community’s public presence has been active on its official Facebook page “Ink on Paper” since 2019. In 2024, the initiative launched its official website (visit it HERE) with the support of ARTgrID.
