Dimitri Cangelaris is a Greek artist, born in Athens (1990). He lived most of his early years abroad in Egypt, Pakistan and Germany. From a young age, he was inclined towards visual arts and therefore studied Architecture in England and Austria. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from the University of Portsmouth, and a Masters in Urban Technics from the University of Applied Art Vienna (die Angewandte Kunst Wien). Settling in Athens this decade, he gained a deeper understanding of his country and was inspired by the architecture of Cycladic Islands, as well as the Athenian urban fabric, and its locals’ daily activities and operations. Dimitri explores and attempts to capture the essence of local’s daily lives, through a style that combines architectural conceptual drawing techniques with Naive art.
