Marianna Xydia Mendelopoulou

Marianna Xydia Mentzelopoulou has been expressing herself through painting since her school years, and later apprenticed under painters M. Kounouso and R. Kakoulidou in the city of Patras, where she resides. In the past, she mainly worked with pastels, in which she practiced extensively and delved deeply. Pastels were also the primary material in her first solo exhibition, where she presented images from her city, landmarks, and points of personal journey that are lost in time. She has also dabbled in watercolors, always returning to express powerful moments, as well as oils on canvas to create emotionally charged portraits and depict landscapes. She has participated in several group exhibitions, while consistently supporting the city’s artistic events through her participation and active presence. Her love for the art of painting serves as a lens through which she experiences emotions and interacts with the external world.
