Art Curator Paris Kapralos, in collaboration with visual artists from Greece and abroad, invites you to visit the exhibition “New Normal 5: The Blind Spot in the Mirror<\/strong>” and to honour us with your presence at its opening<\/strong> on Thursday 5 February, 19:00 \u2013 22:00<\/strong>.<\/p>

The exhibition is presented physically in Athens at Chili Art Gallery<\/a><\/strong> (13\u201315 Dimofontos Street, Thiseio, Athens) and simultaneously online in collaboration with ARTgrID (https:\/\/artgrid.gr<\/a>).<\/p>

The exhibition explores artificial intelligence as a mirror of the human being and the transformation of humanity through its archetypal imagery in the contemporary era.<\/p>

Visitors will encounter works of painting, photography, and digital art, making the exhibition a uniquely immersive experience.<\/p>

The curatorial text notes, among other things: “In an age where artificial intelligence is trained daily through our own usage, a paradox arises: the more \u2018intelligent\u2019 the machine becomes, the more it reflects our weaknesses. Artificial intelligence, despite its name, is not artificial; it is a mirror of accumulated human knowledge, desires and behaviours. It is not inherently dangerous, but becomes so through the way it is used. The machine available to everyday users is shaped by the most frequently asked questions, the most forcefully expressed needs, the most repeated patterns. This is what the theory of Human\u2013Artificial Intelligence Symbiotic Relationship (HAIST) describes as a collaborative and co-evolving interaction. Yet artificial intelligence records, filters, and re-emits dominant social behaviours, communicative strategies, and prevailing mindsets of its users. It does not learn \u2018objectively\u2019: it learns from us. Conversely, AI now shapes not only content, but perception itself; Impact Theories explain how large language models influence users\u2019 attitudes and behaviours through the patterns they have learned to replicate. When those patterns are simplistic or poor, the influence exerted becomes a reproduction of banality. Does artificial intelligence ultimately create \u2018mirrors\u2019 that unsettle us when we look into them? Perhaps what we fear as its evolution is not that it will write our future in dark letters on its own, but that it may adopt our worst selves?<\/i>“<\/p>

The following visual artists have contributed their work to the exhibition: Adelina Evro Drenesku, Konstantina Krokou, Ioannis Stamoulis, Sofia Papadopoulou, Theodora Toutsiaraki, Marios Pantopoulos, Chrysoula Demagkou, Elena Pouli, Ermioni Arnidou, Olga Barmazi, Alexandra Bantalouka<\/b>.<\/p>

A bilingual (Greek and English) commemorative catalogue-book has been published and is available free of charge to all visitors.<\/p>

Opening Hours \/ Days<\/strong>: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 11:00 \u2013 18:00, Thursday 12:00 \u2013 19:00, Saturday 11:00 \u2013 15:00. Closed on Mondays and Sundays.<\/p>

The exhibition will run from Thursday 5 February to Saturday 14 February 2026<\/strong><\/p>

Audience Awards
<\/b>In addition, on the official Facebook page of ARTgrID<\/a><\/strong>, an album featuring photos of all artworks in the exhibition will be published from the opening night until the exhibition\u2019s closing. Visitors will be able to express their preferences by clicking \u201cLike\u201d on their favourite works until 23:59 on the final day. The artist whose work receives the most Likes by that time will be publicly announced as the audience\u2019s choice and awarded non-monetary gifts by the organizers.<\/p>

About the Curator
<\/b>Paris Kapralos<\/a><\/strong> is an art curator, Founder and Coordinator of the ARC \u2013 Art Revisited Collective<\/a><\/strong>, publisher of Arts & Antiques CCR<\/a><\/strong>, and co-founder of ARTgrID<\/a><\/strong>. Born in 1975, he grew up in Athens, where he currently lives and works. From 2008 to 2022, he resided in Northern Greece. He studied Economics (Athens) and Graphic Arts (Staffordshire, UK). He previously worked as a journalist specializing in technology for economic newspapers, magazines, and news agencies (1999\u20132006), and as an organiser of business conferences in the IT and telecommunications sector (2004\u20132011), before turning to the field of art in 2011. Since then, he has curated and organised more than 200 exhibitions, visual arts events, projects, and participations both in Greece and abroad.<\/p>
